Apple Wants To Make The Gadget Market Smaller

Both literally and figuratively, Apple plans on making a big impression on the world of technology by making the mobile gadget market much smaller. Apple’s plans include creating a next generation of mobile devices that are more streamlined and much more powerful. This will work to Apple’s advantage two fold. First, smaller devices will be less expensive to ship and store. The company will be able to keep up with consumer demands to a higher degree of efficiency. Not only will this help Apple to knock down the competition, it will also give consumers something to talk about.

This plan will require a number of adjustments to the existing designs of some of Apple’s best selling products. The standard SIM card will need to be replaced by what has been dubbed as the ‘microSIM.’ The microSim can hold just as much data as the standard sized SIM card, and it is likely that it will be able to surpass its predecessors storage capabilities in due time. Apple also plans on fittings its electronic devices with more lightweight hardware. Internal components that can be compartmentalized and compacted will help the company to achieve its end goal.

New, smaller Apple electronics may not be a reality for another few years, but the company’s announcement signals a huge change in the gadget industry. Screens are getting bigger but the overall size of gadgets is shrinking rapidly. If Apple gets its wish, it will be difficult for other gadget manufacturers to keep up with the company’s ever changing technologies.
